About HTC

HTC is Arizona’s ORIGINAL professional body piercing studio. We opened in 1991 as the only studio in the entire state to focus STRICTLY on body piercing. Through out the years, HTC has evolved in many ways, with the addition of another studio in Tempe in 1994, a change of ownership, and merging with High Priestess Piercing of Oregon in 2004, but we remain dedicated to our original goal of providing the safest body piercings and the highest quality body jewelry that the world has to offer.

It is extremely important to us not only that you leave our studio satisfied with your new piercing, but that you leave educated about the jewelry, aftercare procedures, risks and rewards of having it as well. Our staff is highly trained, knowledgeable, friendly and available to answer any questions you may have. Everyone in our studio, including our counter, piercing and administrative staff, is a proud member of the Association of Professional Piercers, who’s continuing education programs keep us on the cutting edge of the body piercing world.

In addition to all this, HTC has been voted the best Piercing Studio by several publications and have received numerous glowing reviews from people who we’ve pierced over the years.

Jewelry

HTC carries the largest selection of high-quality body jewelry in Arizona.

The majority of our jewelry is made of 316LVM F-138 implant grade stainless steel, or 6AL4V ELI F-136 implant grade titanium, but we also have some of the finest in gold, glass and various types of organics (wood, amber, bone, horn, stone, etc) available.

HTC only carries internally threaded jewelry

HTC wants to ensure that your experience getting a piercing or just buying a new barbell is safe and fun. If you have any questions about our jewelry, or anything else, just give us a call!

For years HTC has used internally threaded jewelry exclusively. What’s the difference between internally threaded and externally threaded jewelry, you ask? Internally threaded jewelry has a hole in the post, and the threads on the bead. This allows a smooth insertion, with no jagged metal coming in contact with your body. Externally threaded jewelry has a hole in the bead, and the threads on the post itself. This style requires rough threads to be drawn through the body for insertion or removal of the jewelry. It’s a lot like running a very tiny cheese grater through your piercing. Obviously, this can cause a multitude of problems with fresh and even completely healed piercings.

Manufacturers of externally threaded jewelry tend to use lower grade materials, which can lead to metal reactions, slower healing times, and can sometimes cause a piercing to migrate or reject completely. When you get a piercing at HTC we want to help you avoid as many problems with your new piercing as possible, which is why we will only use quality jewelry that meets the standards put forth by the Association of Professional Piercers. Our body jewelry is made of the same grade metals used by physicians in medical applications such as bone splints and screws, insuring that it’s safe for use INSIDE the body, and therefore safe for your piercing.

With body jewelry, much like everything else in life, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. The low quality of the manufacturing and materials used in externally threaded jewelry will undoubtedly make for a lower price tag, but what you save monetarily you will more than likely make up for in problems with your piercing.

Mission

HTC is committed to meeting the unique and individual needs of each one of our clients by providing the highest-quality body-modifications available anywhere. We aim to maintain our profitability, our sense of humor, and our moderate growth, while continuing to offer our staff benefits and safe, aesthetically pleasing work environments.

Sterilization and Safety

HTC is committed to providing every client with a safe, aseptic environment.

We use an autoclave, which is spore tested twice monthly to ensure that it’s working properly and eliminating any possible microorganisms.

Prior to a piercing all the necessary items – tools, jewelry and a new, unused needle – are all autoclaved.

All our needles are single-use, and get properly disposed of in a “sharps” (biohazard) container after your piercing.

Piercers wash their hands and use fresh gloves for every piercing. Since they have all been educated about cross-contamination and how to maintain an aseptic environment, they will often change gloves during the preparation and piercing, further preventing exposure to any type of pathogen.

The HTC Crew ensures that the piercing rooms are aseptic environments for each individual who comes in to be pierced.
